Posted on Jul 4th, 2011 Comments (0)
The Animal Control Department assists the public with any animal-related problem and to provide the public and animals with the care and respect they deserve. They will assist with sick, injured, stray or unwanted animals. Domestic animals or livestock should not be allowed to run loose and cause a public nuisance, and should be reported promptly.
Animal Control Officers work with outside agencies to assist with animal adoption and low cost spaying, neutering, and rabies vaccination clinics. They also work with state departments for testing and reporting animal bites and rabies testing. Educational programs can be arranged for children or citizens on the best way to care for their own pets and how to deal with situations that may arise.
